Chapter Thirteen

Kiara and Christain

Waking up beside Christain, Kiara couldn’t do anything but smile. She was glad that she didn’t run away like she wanted to after that mess with Serenity and they were able to work things out. Easing out the bed so she wouldn’t wake him, she tip toed to Emani’s room to see if she was awake. Opening up Emani’s door, she smiled when she saw her sitting up in her bed watching cartoons.

“Ki Ki, I’m hungry,” Emani stated calling Kiara by the nickname she gave her.

“Okay baby come on and I will fix you something to eat,” Kiara replied sticking out her hand.

Climbing off the bed, Emani took Kiara’s hand and followed her to the kitchen. Reaching in the refrigerator she grabbed the bacon, eggs, butter, milk, and orange juice. Grabbing the pancake mix out the cabinet, she whipped up some pancakes and bacon, putting Christain’s plate in the microwave.

Cutting Emani’s pancakes into little pieces and pouring her some juice, she placed their plates on the table and sat down to eat.

“Good morning,” Christain spoke as he stepped in the room.

“Good morning,” Kiara spoke placing her fork down and getting up to get his plate.

“Morning daddy,” Emani spoke with a mouth full of pancakes.

Walking over to Emani, he kissed her on the top of her head and sat down to eat.

Looking around the table, Christain smiled. They looked like a real family and if he had it his way this is how it will always be.

“So what do we have planned for today?” Kiara asked.

“Nothing really, why?” Christain asked taking a bite of his bacon.

“Well I was thinking about going shopping to get Emani a few things since she was going to be living with you permanently.”

“Emani already has a closet full of clothes. Your ass just wants to go shopping.”

“True. So are you going to take us?” Kiara asked as she reached across the table and wiped the syrup off Emani’s face.

“Do I really have a choice?”

“No,” Kiara replied with a smirk, “come on Emani let’s get dressed so we can spend some of daddy’s money.”

Getting up from the table with Kiara, Emani went with her to get ready.

Walking into the mall, Christain thought it was kind of cute how Kiara dressed Emani. They both had on sun dresses, with flip flops, and their hair pulled up in pony tails.

“What are you looking at?” Kiara asked when she noticed Christain staring.

“You.”

“What?” Kiara asked looking down at herself.

“I just think it’s cute how you’re playing step momma.”

“Shut up,” Kiara stated grabbing Emani’s hand as they walked through the mall.
